I may be wrong, but I don't think the OP was implying that her puppy already had kennel cough. I think she was just clarifying that the Bordetella shot is
for kennel cough?

The intranasal version is very common now, but again, it's preventative. It doesn't help a dog that already has it. I don't do it on my dogs except in special circumstances.
On a brighter note, Bordetella is rarely life-threatening even though it's very contagious. It's sort of like a common cold in a human. It runs its course, then it's done. In more severe cases, it requires treatment with antibiotics. You can't "treat" Bordetella by giving a shot to prevent it. |
