The Bordetella vaccine isn't a treatment, it's a preventative measure. The vets I know won't do vaccinations of any kind if a dog is already ill. It's kind of like giving your child a measles vaccine when it already has the measles.

The intranasal version is very common now, but again, it's preventative. It doesn't help a dog that already has it. I don't do it on my dogs except in special circumstances.

On a brighter note, Bordetella is rarely life-threatening even though it's very contagious. It's sort of like a common cold in a human. It runs its course, then it's done. In more severe cases, it requires treatment with antibiotics. You can't "treat" Bordetella by giving a shot to prevent it.
