I think its crazy that any vet wants to keep them overnight for a spay or neuter. Ive had all 5 of the mine spayed and neutered and they didnt need to stay overnight. I just made a bed on the living room floor for us and thats where we slept and they did fine. They really dont feel like playing right after so they arent gonna be running around. I think they recover best where they are most comfortable and nobody will take as good of care of your babies as you would. Ive always asked for pain meds too. One of my vets insisted that they didnt need it and they dont hurt but I insisted on it because they do hurt. Just my 2 cents
