Because AKC is stricter and has a DNA profile set up the chances that your AKC registered pup is pure bred are alot better than that of any other registry. The chances that the breeder is conducting themselves in an ethical way are also higher as AKC will do an inspection of your facility and your records where other registries won't bother. The AKC system is far from perfect but it is the best that we have at present for protecting dog owners and the dogs.
