Been there, done that. My male Bichon, Cosmo, had one testicle that didn't drop. A vet in Florida told my son to wait to have him neutered, which my son did. My vet in Tennessee said if a testicle hasn't come down by four or five months of age, it probably isn't going to drop, and you should go ahead and neuter the dog. Cosmo was neutered when he was a year old when he came to live with me. The testicle was easy to find and the vet didn't have any problems with the surgery. Cosmo had leaned to mark and although it got better after he was neutered, he didn't completely stop. I still have to watch him today since he will mark anything new or something he particularly likes and wants to claim. Once learned, marking is a very hard habit to break. I would recommend getting him neutered as soon as possible for his health and maybe the marking will get better.
