We live in the city, so no 14 acres for our monsters! lol Just a backyard. Boo goes out all the time. After he does his rounds and checks to be sure everything is secure he likes to just sit on the back patio, watch and listen to everything. Boo is 10 1/2 lbs and 5 years old

Gracie Ruth loves to be outside too, but she is only 7 month old and not into the whole sedately sitting and enjoying life thing. She wants to run and sniff and chew and terrorize her brother and run in the house and run out of the house and drag all her toys all over...you get the picture, right. But she is barely 3 1/2 lbs and we have hawks and owls that would love a tasty treat. So she can only be out if someone is with her.

I don't see anything wrong with letting them out to run and play as long as they have a safe secure area to do it in. 9 lbs is probably too big for hawks and most owls, but if you have coyotes in your area, 9 lbs is just an afternoon snack to them.
