I would wait until he is older to give him free roam of the house, but taking him out occasionally when you are watching him is okay. Puppies have small bladders so they need to potty more frequently. As he starts to hold his bladder longer and longer he will eventually learn to hold it until he is outside. (Which is always nice. Hehe...) Good luck in your potty training adventure. We are bring Suri home soon and will be in the same boat.
