We got a new Yorkie last Sunday. She came home with a little cough and weighed 1lb. 6oz. when she came home. She ate dry food ok initially. On Tuesday, she stopped eating and became hypoglycemic. We took her to the vet and were given a syringe and some fattening wet food. Around the same time her cough got worse and we put her on antibiotics. The vet also found that she had Giardia and put her on antibiotics for that as well. We've now been feeding her every 3-4 hrs (typically through a syringe because she won't eat on her own) We've tried baby food, wet food, dry food, turkey etc. We also feed her karo syrup once a day and always have sugar water available. She really likes some of it initially then has no interest in it next time we try. After 5 days on antibiotics they didn't appear to be working and she's always very tired. She does play and has energy at certain times but when she's done she heads back to bed and isn't interested in much attention. She's put on a few ounces and is now on a new antibiotic. Haven't had a chance yet to see if it's working. We're worried about her lethargy and disinterest in food. I've read some threads and it seems as though the pickiness is just a breed thing

Is the sleepiness common when they're so little and not feeling well? Will we be hand (or at times force-)feeding her forever?
