He should have been fed the same food as where you got him, and gradually change to a new diet. When you change the food too fast they get diarrhea. Changing back and adding new foods may even upset his system more. Is it possible to ask them what they were feeding him? New puppies should see a vet as soon as possible. Remember they don't need very much food, but food should be available at all times.
