I don't think you should feel so bad, he sounds like he's better trained than most, if he goes to the door. I doubt if you need to shampoo the carpets again. I would get one of those lights and just spray the spots that show up. He really isn't peeing if he does this 10 minutes after coming in. You can also tell by the size of the spot, marking stains are like a tablespoon or less on a Yorkie, pee is much more than that amount. Some people have found that wearing a belly band with a sanitary pad discourgaes marking especially for unnuetered boys. However, I think if you take care of the spots, he will stop marking.
