Oh wow! I'm glad he's okay now, but I would be FREAKING out wondering where the heck it came from!
Have you walked the route you took to see if maybe a plant is growing there or something? Did someone give him any new treats lately? Is it a new car or apartment? The reason I ask is that a friend of mine bought a new used car and she found a bag of drugs tucked under one of the seats!
One other idea. Your local police might have a drug dog. You could call and talk to them about having the drug dog come sniff your apartment, car and walking route. I would just be worried about him getting into more of it if you don't know where it came from.
