I am so sorry. My little Dixie (RIP) had to be out to sleep in January from congenital kidney failure. She was 6 months old when I got her from the breeder and I noticed that her pee was clear and no odor otherwise she seemed fine. After a month I took her in just because I thought it was starnge and I am a worry wart. The vet did a urinalysis and said it was not normal and he wanted to do BUN and Creatin. He called an hour later and said her Bun level was so high it didn't register on their machine and that she was in kidney failure and nothing could be done. I asked for a referral to a specialist as I couldn't believe there was no hope. The nephrologist did a lot of exoensive tests and said he felt he could keep her going with some meds and fluids. So we started her on her meds on a Saturday and by Monday she was barely alive. I called and he said stop the meds and bring her in on Thursday. She was so bad by then she couldn't lift her head and the odor from the uremic posioning was so strong I had to sleep with a prefumed cloth as I couldn't not let her on the bed. Sadly when I took her in her Bun was near 500 and nothing we could do but let her go. Her problem was her kidneys never developed. The specialist told me that he had many Yorkies in his practice that were doing great with treatment and many had been in his care for years. I am praying your baby can be helped. There is a lot they can do now for them. Dixie just didn't have a chance due ot her kidney's never developing.
