I am so sorry to hear this about your little Copper. I had a Peke w/ mild kidney failure, but she was older (13 when first diagnosed) it did progressively get worse as she got older...our choices to push to prolong her life or not was much different.
I have never had experience with this situation with a dog as young, so the situation is quite different. I know that she was on medication and a special, expensive perscription diet...
