Our little town of Lompoc is nestled in a little valley and surrounded by hills. There are all kids of animals running around town. Lately the cougar has been spotted as well. I live 4 miles from Lompoc up in the hills in a tiny bedroom community nestled smack dab down in the wooded area. Just two blocks from me in two directions there are woods and more hills with coyotes singing their songs most every night. My girls don't even pay them any attention as they are just too use to hearing them. I love being here with all the wild creatures, but I don't take any chances with my girls. They go out, I go out!
