PETA needs to realize that not everybody has the experience or is equiped to adopt a pet from the shelter. Most of those animals experienced a bad past and may need some issues to be worked out. Not everybody has the time, patience, or skills to deal with those sort of issues. So what do they do if they can't handle it? The pet goes right back into the shelter, or they decide to have it put down. On the other hand, pets that come from responsible breeders rarely take up space in a shelter. I don't understand why PETA is being so narrow-minded about this issue. I wish I could fully support them (I like their anit-fur campaigns), but unfortunately a lot of their tactics are way out of hand. |
