what happened was -- the next time he had to pee, he went to the soiled paper towel in the middle of the pad and peed there! after that, i praised and praised him...eventually he figured out he had to pee in the middle of the pad!

oh and make sure u scrub out the area he messed up on, cuz if he smells that, he'll go pee there again. hope this helps!

hmm that's difference, I might try that. Does it apply the same with poo?
