Oh goodness - I would really get this baby in for a skin scraping asap. It could be a number of things - staph (like LadyMom said), fleas, mange, yeast, etcetera. I'd really see if you could get this checked out before his surgery - bc if he *does* have something going on - you don't want him going under surgery when his immune system is already fighting something.
