I'd say he's soft coated. coat is of primary importance when breeding, ESPECIALLY as a stud dog. I have a friend who started with a soft coated bitch, its been over 6 years, and she gets about 25% silk bred to nice silk male, the rest soft coated. Very difficult to get rid of. My advice, neuter him. Find the very best stud with true silk to breed to your girl.
