They should also remember how he graciously asked his father an President Clinton to co-chair the Tsunami Relief efforts. He didn't have to do that! He is a man of class, intlelligence, ethics and I am so proud he is our president. To say that he doesn't care about African Americans is absurd! I too think the federal government was about 24 hours late in New Orleans and we need to find out why, but the onus lies on the mayor and the governor for most of the failure to evacuate. President Bush called Gov. Blanco on Saturday before the hurricane and offered the National Guard and she turned him down! The mayor sent many empty city buses out of the city when it was clearly in the evacuation plan to use the buses to get people out.

Right now we need to be thinking of the best ways to help these victims and the best ways to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. IMO, New Orleans should be rebuilt much smaller. God bless all the victims of Katrina in LA, MS and AL, and God bless America and our president!
"Liberals" are not the only ones who are upset with your President. Many other people are upset, too. People were DYING there and they were poor and didn't have a way out. Maybe Liberals cared the MOST that people were dying, but there were others.

Who cares about what your president did for Clinton? He called his daddy and his daddy's friend Clinton to get advice on what to do during such a tragedy - just like he probably did many times before (including 9/11). I have absolutely no respect for your President Bush and sometimes I wish I lived back in the 60's before the whole country was brainwashed by Republican rhetoric. Bush would never have been "in power" this long.

What Kanye West said about your pres is true - it may come as a surprise that someone said something ALOUD on Nat'l television, but if this tragedy were in Florida or another area without so many blacks, the pres would have been on the scene immediately.

We don't need to find out why this happened - we already know. Your president failed to allot money to fix the levies there. He said they could probably withold a large hurricane and he was wrong, AGAIN.

You are right about the Mayor of New Orleans and Guv of Louisiana. They did nothing but flee to Baton Rouge.

If you think N.O. should be rebuilt much smaller, where do you propose all the homeless people go? Would you be willing to have all the poor refugees who would be without homes live in your backyard? A lot of red states and people wouldn't. If you lived there, would you feel the same way?
