The sites where you mail jewelry in don't give you hardly anything for what you send them. Listen for commercials from area jewelry stores where they will set up shop in a hotel ballroom and then buy your gold and silver from you. These give you (by far) the largest amount and yes, they take broken jewelry as they are looking to melt the gold to make other things. Prices are different for 10K, 14K and 18K gold, silver is usually almost a giveaway!!!
