It may be a little heavy for the type of fabric in the outfit, and I think what you have done sounds fine, probably the best way.
I have another question. It has been a long time since I've looked in baby department, so this may sound stupid but what are the outfits called? Are they like sleepers or rompers? Cause I want to try this, and it helps to know what I am looking for. lol
