I was worried about the same thing . I have a 2 yr old German shepherd named Karma who took to Wiz like he was the puppy she never had . My vet told me once that dogs do not know how big or small they are ..if they have a pedigree a mile long or born in a gutter . They just are .. from my experience , I can say that if your big dog is a gentle soul like my Karma , there should be no problem .
