normagertz,
I had actually started my search before I got my first Yorkie Maggie in 2006. I had Catherine's website saved in my favorites since then. I was hoping to purchase a female from a friend who had bred her female with Hob Nobbin but she only had 2 girls and at the time they were already spoken for. Then another friend had just purchased a female from Catherine and she told me that Catherine was expecting 5 litters. So I got up the nerve to call and it was about a week before the first litter was due. I looked at her site and decided that I wanted a pup from Manda Lea. When I talked to Catherine I told her this and she said to wait to see what she had because there was no guarantee she would have any females. So I said If she does have a female and she looks to be show quality then that is the one I want. well Manda had 2 boys and 1 girl 2 days before she was due and Catherine went into the hospital a few days later. to make a long story short, I got the girl I wanted and I am very happy with how she has turned out so far.
This is my first time showing a dog period, but I have always had a dream to do this. I was always watching the dog shows on TV.
I do know with showing you have to not only have the money for the , show, grooming supplies, food, lodging, and anything else I may have forgotten.
I am currently taking her to conformation classes and doing the basic obedience training I learned from a different class at home. I groom her daily and work with her on her stacking and looking at her teeth. The best advice I could give you is to get some books or videos on showing and take a conformation class. It is better to start her training now rather than waiting because this is the optimal time for puppies to learn.
Oh and if she isn't already get her started in crate training. She will spend alot of time in it at shows.
I Most definitely will keep in touch with you.
