She could've been having low blood sugar problems, dehydration. My vet said if they're temp gets low, they can have all kinds of side effects. Same with dehydration and low blood sugar. Almost a which comes first the chicken or the egg deal. When they're sick they need to keep warm, they body keeps getting run down. 3 keys to saving a puppy-warmth, hydration (water or lactacted ringer) and sugar (energy).

This sounds like improper care of a puppy. She should've taken her to the vet first off, they should be reprimanded for that. Nevertheless as breeders, it's best sometimes just to not fight, help with the bills and go on. Be sure they're educated. Or offer to buy the dog back and take care of him right.
