Certainly I'll never forget the news of my parents' passing, but that's a downer.
And my wedding is an obvious.
But my most memorable experience was a solo hike when I was 21 in Denali National Park. It was miserable. Pouring rain, windy, and straight up. I got to the top of a hill and there were rocks and no good place to pitch a tent. I spent an hour setting it up, soaked, miserable and depressed, with no alternatives because the buses had stopped running.
But once inside the tent, I was safe, secure and warm. I read a book, I just lie there and thought. And listened to the pouring rain and wind while snug in the tent.
It taught me that the best things in life have a cost that's worth paying.
Sheesh, sorry about the novella, but that's a good question, so I'll repeat.
What event in your life is the most memorable?
