At that age/weight, I'm really hesitant to hold food for any length of time. It could def. be that chew stick; so, I guess the vet doesn't think it's an obstruction or anything obviously?
I would skip chicken/rice for now; instead, make mashed potatoes (from fresh potatoes or from canned/sliced potatoes) - just micro them - mash w/ a bit of butter. Feed some to her. The potatoes are great bc they 1) are appetizing to almost all dogs 2) are very quickly absorbed as energy/food and 3) will help abosrb any nauseous juices - so they'll help settle the tummy.
Feed throughout the day - even into tomorrow if necessary. If she seems settled, go back to normal feeding. With your experience with shunt, I'd be watching for that too though - just bc you've seen some early vomiting. I mean I doubt it's from that - but you just want to watch to rule it out...
