ok...... i have to say that i tried the "no punishment and no raising my voice system" but it didnt work for me, and toby got just as confused by me praising him or ignoring him...... so.... i tried the punishment method (mind you he is older, i started this method when he was four months because i was sick of nto getting any results. and i mean NONE) .... Ok so when he would pee on the carpet i would yell at him, whether i saw him do it or not. Yorkies arent stupid, i dont know who came up with that "dont punish it will confuse them, because i have heard it other places too". Anyways, he knew exactly what i was yelling about from the very begining, now he is 98% pad trained, he will even come up and act guilty if he had an accident, the phrase bad dog now has a wonderful ring to it..... i dont even have to say it loud! he associates that phrase with somethign wrong and now as a result look at that percentage........ i know A LOT of you guys dont believe in this method, but i tried the other one that you all follow and it didnt work for anything..... you can argue with me all you want, but toby IS NOT a nervous wreck and you cannot argue with results. |
