Kennel cough is a nasty thing and can last for several months. I had bad experiences with it years ago.... Now i am the fussiest ever, with the many i have i never take them to be groomed and i am very carefull on who comes in and where i take my dogs.
My dog took forever to clear from the cough and he passed it to a litter of puppies and the "soup opera " went exhausting... finally cleared from everyone....
The Nasty it was, as long as everyone was happy and playing my vet kept assuring me it was going to be ok.... i sent the puppies home at 13 weeks old , all coughing with recommendations to have a close eye at them.... it took a while, and then started clearing and finally got better. So do not worry too much, as long as you keep a close eye and see that your pup is playing happy and eating well... it will be fine.
Also my vet is not too fond of antibiotics , so we only gave one round and kept a good diet and playtime. They all did fine and are beautiful dogs now. I am very cautious and now even much more. All the puppy owners understood it was nothing i could have done different and the puppies never needed more antibiotics after they went home.
I hope this will help you out.
XOXOXOX
