You have asked a hard question to answer. I don't think there is a yes/no answer. We have many families here at YT with both small children and yorkies that are model Yorkie owners. For me, I decided to wait until my children were a bit older - they were all in jr. high before our first, LacieBug came into our lives.
You are doing a good thing by researching prior to adding a furbaby to your home. Good luck to you! Try pming some of the members with young children to get some more detailed info about the pros and cons.
