I have a female yorkie, spayed, she is the sweetest, smartest baby I have ever had. I lost my Maltese, loved him, he was not neutered and was a bad boy, miss him so much. I want to get a playmate for Tricksie and would love to have another Maltese, but the grooming between the two of them would be over $100 a month.
I don't think it matters if you get a male or female. Good Luck.
