Well she is half right. Not punish, but confine her to a small are with the pad and be confident that she will use it before you let her have the run of the house. Also, please remember that she is only 3 months old and does not have full controll of that bladder yet. She is a little Yorkie not a bid dog with a big bladder. So, she will learn as she grows and is can hold her potty for as long as it takes to find the pad. Keep it consistant.
Oh, and maybe she is missing the pad because she is small and a puppy. My Sadie used to smell up to the paper and just start to pee. She didn't realize she was not on it but she knew to go to it. That is progress. She will get it. Don't put her in a cage. Your roommate is nuts. Unless you plan to crate train her. But why make it a punishment. Oh, well. Your roommate can't really believe that your puppy is missing the pad just to piss her off. Tell her to find something else to fight about and enjoy your little Yorkie. |
