That's just it, when the ER vet checked her, she had neck pain - but I felt the ER vet was pressing far too hard and would make any dog yelp.
When our regular vet checked her and when I do, there is no yelp.
That is the only symptom that was not "typical" of shunt.
We had a basset pup who had liver shunt - as well as several other birth defects a couple of years ago. That's why I feel in my gut, this is more what we are looking at.
She's not experiencing the low carried head all the time and she doesn't seem to have problems eating regardless of what height I place her bowl. I tested that just to see if she winced at all - she didn't.
That's why it's so confusing.
