I would rather save a puppy from a puppy mill anyday - because they are going to be there whether I buy one or not - than to buy one from a plush breeder that is ensured a home even if they dont sale. Now - I feel even closer to her. I feel as if I 'rescued' the poor thing. She was born regardless - I was blessed to have met her and given her a great home. Without the condition of having an AKC certificate. Sure that makes sense.
Its satisfying - moreso than a certificate. |
The problem with "rescuing" one puppy...is another puppy will take it's place and the breeding pair themselves are stuck in h-ll...pumping out litter after litter...until she is unable to produce puppies and then probably euthanized. If someone buys the puppies...puppymillers make their money and will still continue to abuse animals. If no one was buying them...there wouldn't be a market.
