The best way I have found to set up when potty training is getting an x pen and a crate. I set it up so the x pen is set up as long as it will go, one panel wide. place the crate at one end attached to the x pen, and the other end I place the potty pad. I place water and food in the middle or closer to the crate. Most dogs do not like a dirty bed so they will potty at the far end where you place the potty pad. You can also use the potty spray at that end also. It works well for my BF dogs when we are at work. ,and also worked well on my yorkie Evee. We have a doggie door, but out here it is like 115 almost every day and we don't want to come home to a dog with heat exhaustion.
