That is exactly what I've been told and that's what I've been doing for a long time. I sometimes dress him and if his wee wee hair is completely shaved off ,he would pee straight into his shirt and his belly. So I started leaving a little bit of hair just at the tip,like a string and when he pees it flows downward like a "Fountain"
I just took a picture so you can get an idea.it still stays pretty clean and it doesnt "stick" Just dont leave lots of hair...
Also a groomer we had used to do this and explained that many dogs just pee straight onto their coats/belly instead of the ground or pee pad..
