If the hospital is staffed 24/7, it is fine to leave her.
If everyone leaves at night I would absolutely not leave her.
Most small dogs do fine if the right kind of anesthesia is used. This would be Isoflurane or Sevoflurane to maintain and usually something else to induce (like Propofol).
