When I took my fur baby Gizmo to the vet the day after we got him this past October, he had Kennel Cough. Runny nose, & coughing. The vet gave him Chlorphenarimine for the runny nose and Albon Suspension for the cough. He was on the medicine for a week and it seemed that everything cleared up but within a week of finishing the meds he started coughing again. I called the vet and he said that sometimes the antibiotic kills some of the bacteria and leaves some behind. So, it seems to clear up and then once the antibiotic finishes they come back down with it. He gave him another antibiotic (Cefa Drops) for 10 days and he cleared right up. Knock on wood he's been doing well since.
