I use the trimmer on half of his belly, (the half that is gross!!)... I can't stand him smelling like pee, so that has worked for us... I cut it pretty short, around the penis area, between the legs and under part of the rib cage if that makes any sense... pretty cleaner I have to say! and allows me to keep the "long hair look" without the smell...
