Unfortunately, they are protecting their turf when the barking is related to comings and goings outside and outside noises. Does it make a difference if you close the blinds so he can't see outside? Closing ours is the only way to keep the girls quiet if they are in the living room - especially since Angel likes to stand on guard like Izzy!!!!
When we are upstairs and Angel just likes to hear herself bark I use the clicker (which she hates) and that stops her in her tracks!!
