Okay, I have tried the Plush Puppy products.. Hi everyone
I said I would let you know how I found the Plush Puppy shampoo and conditioner I bought. I used the Natural Conditioning Shampoo with Evening Primrose and the Natural Silk Protein Conditioner. I wet Tootsy thoroughly with warm water and rubbed a little of the shampoo onto my hands and then spread it all over her. It lathered a lot, so I may have used too much, although I only put a VERY small amount on my hands (in fact the bottle still looks full!) as I knew it was concentrated. I rinsed her very well and her hair looked rather dry and very tangly. I then thought I better put the conditioner on without diluting it, as she was so full of tangles. I put quite a lot of the conditioner on her and then rinsed after a few minutes. Her hair was still very dry and full of tangles. I dried her carefully trying not to rub and make matters worse. I then sprayed a LOT of Ice on Ice on her and carefully took out all the tangles. It took ages and Toots was so good about it, poor baby - I didn't hurt her though. I then put a small dab of the Swishy Coat on my hands and smoothed it through her hair. I dried her and she is fine now, but I did not enjoy this process. Her hair still looks dry to me and it never normally looks like this, so I am disappointed. I am probably doing something wrong, as others love these products.
I have been using various pet shampoos and then using L'oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss intensive conditioner (in the pot). I comb it through and it leaves her hair very glossy and she gets lot of compliments. The trouble is, I know it is not ph balanced and it is probably full of silicones as well!! This is why I am trying to find something else.
Well, this was my experience with Plush Puppy products. Any advice form other Plush Puppy product users? Oh, the other product I tried recently was Duurstede EF (yes, I am slowly going bankrupt!!) as I wanted to use it to wash her face, as it is eye friendly. It worked well and I used it all over as well. It didn't dry her hair out or leave it knotty so I can recommend it. Strangely enough, it DID irritate her one eye, which teared for a day or so. It is fine now - I will just be more careful with the suds getting into her eyes. I must say that the Plush Puppy shampoo did not irritate her eyes at all.
Luv
Yvonne xx
