Nope they are caged up outside and are domesticated pigeons. we can not let them have free roam of garden or anything coz if they dont come back they wont survive. usually they come in the house to have a fly around but since they layed the eggs we havent done this coz they have to sit the eggs. we have a german shepherd dog crate so what we have decided to do before the other 2 eggs hatch is bring them both in with the eggs and untill the babies are big enough will live in the outhouse. we are guessing we might have aquired a mouse because the pigeons wouldnt have harmed the baby and if it was a rat the eggs would be gone to but it is still a mystery as to how the mouse got into the nest coz it was hard enough for us to get close to it without being attacked. The shavings and millet is because the shavings is to keep the egg safe and warm (with them being outside) and they eat the millet and decided they wanted it in the nest i will take a pic of their cage so you can see what i mean and post it later x
