We just have a regular old webcam from Logitech, not a particular petcam or anything. I set it up in the room where I keep Barnaby, and then configured the cam to broadcast on a site called webcamnow.com. I am fortunate in that the site is not blocked by my work's network - I know other people who absolutely cannot view the cam from work, probably because of their firewalls, etc.

If you do get a pet cam that you want to keep live all day long - remember to turn off ALL your power saving functions on your computer - the first day I couldn't figure out why the petcam kept going offline, and then it hit me - my computer went into power saving mode every so often and logged me off the internet. And of course, webcamnow.com itself has it's own problems and it goes off line from time to time, but it's a free service, and on the whole it works great. There may be other websites that work better, but I've been too lazy to look.

on webcamnow, anyone else can see your cam too, but as long as that doesn't bother you, you are good to go. When I log on, I can see that several other people have their own pets on cam too, which is cute!
