Could you not have her whelping box in the room where you are?
She obviously wants to be with the people she loves, being her first litter she is confused & probably feeling a bit overwhelmed. The novelty of having puppies has probably worn off a bit now too & she wants to be back with her family.
As Denise has said, the puppies are too young to be left by themselves yet without being checked regularly & you'll have to help her. The main thing is to keep them warm. They can go downhill so fast if they get chilled.
Some bitches are just not that great at being the sort of mum you think they should be.
One of mine did this so often that I thought I'd got wise to her, till one day the puppies had completely vanished & she was following me about looking so pleased! I nearly ripped the house apart looking for them, till I eventually heard one squeaking & tracked down the noise to where she'd stashed them amongst a pile of boxes under the bed in a spare room we hardly use.
Try not to let her carry them too much if she's in this funny mood. they can get very intense about it. Another of mine, in her determination to carry them where she wanted, ended up killing all four of hers by picking them up by the head & crushing them.
