The other day I found on my front door a Notice of Default in reference to a home loan belonging to some gentleman I have never heard of. Some quick research found that his address had the first two numbers transposed. I called the collection agency. They insisted it was an error on the title company's part. It turns out the guy is a real estate agent and he has this property listed on his web site. I gave her that URL and told her to fix the error. The last thing I want is his crap getting on my credit report, or worse yet, the repo folks showing up and cleaning out my home when I am not here! Just something kind of scary when you think about it. Another reminder to check your credit report every year.
