If you take them a few times they start getting better at swimming. At first it seems like most are flailers. One of my Mini Schnauzers was a smooth swimmer right off the bat. The Yorkie and the other Schnauzer use to be kind of flailers, but they are a lot smoother now. We take them 5 or 6 times a year in the summer, after the water warms up. The Yorkie doesn't really seem to like it, but she doesn't really like a bath either. One of the Schnauzies(the one that likes to swim more) actually likes to take a bath and I sometimes have to keep her out of the shower. David |
