You have no need to apologize to me. You have done nothing that requires it.
Personally, I would not eat dog. I wouldn't let anyone prepare dog in my house or eat it in my house. To me it is not acceptable. BUT...there was no intent to bash anyone.
ALL people are entitled to their opinions and are entitled to state them. I believe this post went in the direction it has because some perceived bashing that wasn't there. I believe this to be a form of bashing in and of itself.
