I have not used a rubber band as it is painful..I know because a friend used the method for years. Her pups cried for hours after banding. You need a breeder to show you how to clamp and twist..no blood, no stitches to become infected, almost no reaction from the pups..infact I have done it while they were on the nipple nursing.
