If they can stand or at least sit up you can make a gruel for them. Just make sure you do not leave it in there, so they do not choke/drown.

I use warm water mixed with Gerber rice cereal, add about tsp of karo and half a jar of baby food (chicken flavor). It works pretty well.

I have a female that weans her puppies at 5 weeks but have never seen one snap or growl at their pups to wean them. Every girl is different I guess.

Check her nipples to make sure they are not hot or swollen, if they are infected that could be very uncomfortable for her. If she has just decided that she is done with them you may have to bottle feed them until they can eat the gruel. Best of luck...
