When I first got Roxie she was very very sick. I had her for 2 days and it was horrible how fast she went downhill. Hubby and I took her to the vet straight up and I thought she was going to die in my arms. She had a bad case of "kennel cough". The vet thought it might have been going into pneumonia. We put her on antibiotics and whenever I'd shower I'd have her in the bathroom with the steam to help. Also they told me to tap her sides where her lungs are. It was awful for her and the worry was crazy for me. I fell in instant love with her when I first saw her and couldn't stand the thought of losing her that quick. She got better, but the cough and the rattling in her chest lasted a long time. To this day she has a bark that sounds like she's horse. She can't bark! She tries, it's kind of sad. But the vet has checked her out since and has no explanation for that. She does have an extremely small trachea though. If your unsure have it checked out asap.
