Please think about returning the collar. Collars are not meant for yorkies. You need to invest in a comfortable harness. An adjustable tiny one would be great since you have such a little guy right now.
Collars can damage the trachea of a yorkie and even cause death. At least never walk a yorkie with a collar and leash - always use a harness. Plus lots of people can tell you horror stories of having a collar get caught on something and yorkies have even died this way.
If you have to have a collar - get a cat collar known as a break-away collar
